On Wednesday, June 28th in the morning, Alvin and I were praying during our devotional time, including a prayer for special protection for our children and their spouses as well as our grandchildren. Alvin prayed especially for Sarah who is three years old. That same morning a Calgary Police Man who was off duty received a call to report for special duty that day. He had planned to spend that day with his children and was able to postpone reporting for duty that day.
In the afternoon our daughter Myra, took her three children to the public pool, and were playing in the shallow water. The policeman was also in the pool with his child and then noticed the lifeless body of Sarah, our granddaughter, floating in the water. Her lips were blue, she was not breathing and had no heartbeat. The policeman picked her up and loudly and repeatedly asked for someone to call 911. Nobody responded with urgency and there were no life guards.
He kept calling for help, making his way out of the pool at the same time, when a pastor approached him and the lifeless body of Sarah. The pastor placed his hands on Sarah and prayed for her, calling on Jesus to save her life.
The policeman put Sarah on her side, on the grass at that time, and administered CPR. Following a period of time and getting no response he gave up, but when seeing his own child he got a strong impression to continue the CPR. Shortly after Sarah regained consciousness and started crying. The ambulance finally came and took her to the Children's Hospital.
Sarah was in the hospital for several days. The CT scan shows no brain injury, her lungs are clear and she has as much energy as ever.
On July 9th, Sunday morning, Sarah, without any kind of prompting, told her mom, "Mommy when I was in the water I saw a lady angel with wings and a man angel without wings".
We know we have seen the hand of God in direct answer to our prayers. We are deeply humbled and thankful for HIs goodness. We want to give testimony to His power and faithfulness and we praise HIs Holy Name.
